Measure Leadership Competencies for Accelerated Development

Leadership competencies have become a focus of many organizations as they seek to define what skills and capabilities are required for effective leadership. While models abound, there are few effective means of measuring one’s proficiency in the various competencies identified. Harrison Assessments has answered the need with their comprehensive behavioral assessment system that accurately measures over 175 traits. Based on research, Harrison Assessments has identified 10 competencies within 5 categories and weighted them for emerging leaders and experienced leaders. The competencies include:

  2. Execution – Problem Solving & Resilience and Perseverance
  3. Innovation & Strategic Thinking
  4. Engagement – Energizing People and Leading People
  5. Relationship Building – Communication & Impact and Influence

Harrison competency reports include an Overall Report of all 10 competency scores for the individual; in addition a separate detailed report for each competency may be generated to identify specific strengths and needs for development within each competency. The detailed competency reports include Trait Development Reports that based on the individual’s competency scores would most impact performance improvement in the competency. Learning and Development professionals, as well as management may generate a group report to facilitate analysis of development opportunities across leaders in a particular department, function, region or targeted group for development, such as high potentials. With easy-to-understand and apply developmental tools and resources, Harrison’s comprehensive behavioral measurement and reporting capability enables organizations to accelerate the development of their leaders in essential competencies.
