University of Phoenix SkillSoft has entered into an agreement with UoP's Prior Learning Assessment center (PLAC). Under this program, college-level credit can be earned for previous training, job and work learning experiences, licenses and certificates. SkillSoft has submitted for evaluation and received pre-determined credit for more than 800 business skills and 1,000 IT titles that can be applied toward general education and elective requirements of a bachelor's degree. Twenty-two and a half clock hours of e-learning is equivalent to 0.5 semester credits. A listing of evaluated SkillSoft courses can be found at http://www.phoenix.edu/plac/creditrecognition.asp in the University of Phoenix "Corporate Credit Recognition Guide." Additional SkillSoft courses will be submitted and evaluated for credit each October. Drexel University Through the agreement between SkillSoft and Drexel e-learning, those who have completed SkillSoft business and IT courses are eligible to receive up to 20 credits at no cost toward the completion of undergraduate degrees in communications, applied technology or general studies. SkillSoft students are also eligible for a 10-percent discount on tuition expenses for any Drexel University online degree or certificate program. More than 2,000 SkillSoft courses are eligible for credit at Drexel University. To receive credit for a SkillSoft course, a student must obtain a grade of 70 percent or higher on the course test. Students receive one credit for every ten contact hours associated with a SkillSoft course. For instance, successful completion of SkillSoft's Six Sigma course series, comprised of eight courses, would earn the learner a minimum of three college credits.
